Lura Libby Luau

Lura Libby Luau

The Friends and Family of Lura Libby group hosted the Lura Libby Luau at Lura Libby School on Saturday, February 8th from 9:00-12:00.  It was a fun way to keep warm on a cold winter day. Many Lura Libby families and other families in the area attended this event.

There was a craft room where students could use creativity to turn an ordinary paper cup into a parrot or create a 3-D fish.   There was a room for students and their guests to sing along, play instruments, and listen to a ukulele being played. There was a Barefoot Books room with story telling, puzzles, drawing and more. The multi-purpose room had events involving fun physical activity such as hula hooping, jump roping, completing an obstacle course while on wheeled platforms, and more.  There was a Snack Shack where students were treated with a snack of fruit salad including grapes, pineapple, and watermelon.  They also served water and animal crackers.  Students could take a break from all of the fun and relax with a snack.  There was a Hawaiian-themed family or friends photo booth where families and friends could get decked out with Hawaiian garb and props and have their photo taken as if on the beach in Hawaii.  Photos will be mailed home to families as a keepsake of the fun day.

Gifts were given to students and other children upon entry and there were door prizes raffled off at the end of the event.  It was a fun family event for all who attended.
