FALL FESTIVAL

Lura Libby School held its annual Fall Fest on Saturday, October 24th.  The event was well attended by Lura Libby School students and their family members and friends.  The event was sponsored by the Friends and Family of Lura Libby group.  The event organizer was art teacher and parent group liaison, Janelle Eddy.  There were outdoor events including an obstacle course that featured a lobster buoy pull, running through hoops, lifting weights, running around various obstacles, carrying birdseed on a spoon, and more.  This obstacle course was designed and put together by school nurse, Lynne Hall, along with staff and student volunteers.  Other outdoor events were a family photo booth where families could have their photo taken by the principal, Ainslee Riley, and a hay maze.  Inside the school there were multiple activities as well.  Each child who attended received a free pumpkin donated by either Beth’s Farm Market or School House Farm and they were able to decorate those pumpkins.  There was face painting, a snack station with apples donated by School House Farm and popcorn donated by Flagship Cinemas, a craft station, and a spooky room for students to enter, if they dared to do so.  There were gifts for all who attended and door prizes were drawn, including door prizes donated by Domino’s and Oakland Park Lanes.  Many parents, Lura Libby School staff members, and students from Oceanside assisted by volunteering at the event.  It was a fun family event for all who attended!
