Resource Room

Meet Mrs. Bernard

Tell me about yourself.

I began teaching in this school district in 1984. I have taught at the Thomaston Grammar School and Cushing Community School, in addition to Lura Libby School.

Why do you like teaching in the Resource Room?

I love planning individualized reading, writing, and math programs, and teaching students one-on-one or in small groups. The students always work hard and are very appreciative of the help they receive.

What are your favorite student units?

I teach reading, writing, and math. I especially like the Accelerated Reader Program, our multisensory reading programs, and all the great children’s literature we have.

What is your plan for parent contact?

Please feel free to call Thomaston Grammar School at 354-6353, stop by the resource room, or email me at dbernard@rsu13.org.

What are your homework guidelines?

I have no general homework guidelines, but feel it is important to expose children to as much literature and real-life math as possible.
